today's show went over like a turd in the punch bowl, but that kind of thing tends to
happen when scenes collide. regardless, you can't stop the virus, nothing can, so you
best cry yourself to sleep while it awaits its next victim...
because there is plenty more in store for 2007.

last saturday's show at valentine's was easily the best experience we've ever had
at that venue. the bands were great, the crowd was amazing, and andrew (valentine's
sound guy) gave it his all, trying to get n.dru's vocals to cooperate with the club's p.a.
system once and for all. keep an eye on the
shows
section for our next gig there,
as it will feature andrew literally setting himself on fire.
now for some shout outs to the other bands on this great bill:
massdirge - for starting things off right... by breaking shit!!
the flying buttresses - albany's bastards of goth!
psyclon 9 - for blowing us out of the water, and nearly burning valentine's to the ground!!!!
android lust - who rose from the ashes of the psyclon 9 storm and enchanted the survivors with their haunting melodies...
big thanks to jared (aka. jewbacca) for organizing this disaster waiting to happen
and making sure that everyone got their money's worth!!
thanks to all of or fans, new and tireless, for showing up once again and giving us the
energy we need to be our best!! we hope to see many of you up at northern lights
(clifton park, ny) in two weeks for the rat-a-tat tattoo & music expo!!!
11.29.06
this just in! doomsday virus will be playing axis lounge in carlstadt, nj on
saturday, january 27th @11pm. we'll see you there if the new jersey highway
system doesn't pwn your soul first!! more details to come.

don't forget the virus infects what's left of valentine's* this weekend, along with
android lust, psyclon 9, the flying buttresses, and massdirge!!!
*i mean really, how many times can you infect the same place w/o wiping it out?
these people must have had their flu shots, or even worse, they could all be......
ZOMBIES!!!!

THANX ALBANY!!!
for a show that we only had 34 hours to plan for, everything went amazingly well!
there was a great atmosphere inside the club last night, and that's thanks to each and every one of you that came out early to support the virus (whether you knew we were going to play or not). the crowd was very much alive, loud and animated, and that's the sort of thing that drives us on stage. we feed off of the energy you give us, and return it back to you in the form of a more intense performance than you'd get if you all just stood against the back wall sulking. you didn't. you were great! and we love you for it.
speaking of love. here's a giant shout out to brainclaw, who were simply mind blowing last night!! this is the second time we've shared the stage with these guys, and it's always a pleasure. and i thought that their last show in albany was good!
and while we're at it, we'd like to send happy birthday wishes to kim of brainclaw! we hope it was a memorable one for you!
also, thanks to dave, our sound guy last night at red square. good help is hard to find these days, but you came through for both bands last night! not only that, but you were there on time! which i don't think has ever happened before. so props to you!
and last, but certainly not least, thanks to danielle. alien-nation's hard working founder and promoter for making this all possible! no matter what else happens, there were over 100 people through the doors of that little club, in this little city last night. and of those 100 people, not a single one DIDN'T have a smile on their face (and these people are supposed to be GOTH!!). when all is said and done, that's the most important, and most rewarding, thing you could possibly ask for!

THANX ALBANY!!!
thank you to everyone who showed up last night at valentine's in albany to
catch the virus. it was quite a trip playing that downstairs stage again
as it's the same place where we held our first show as "doomsday virus".
some things have changed since then, while others never do...
thanks to the baron for setting everything up AGAIN, the flying buttresses,
and our skull-shredding headliners, hung, from new york city, who left the
crowd not only with bleeding ears, but with smiles on all of their faces!!
photos soon, see ya all around nuckaz!!!

the following review courtesy of
www.chaindlk.com
:
(4 1/2 out of 5 stars)
This is the band's third independently released album. Upon hearing this CD,
I asked myself why this band isn't signed to a major label yet? This is full
of potential. The band's image is much like a psychobilly band would look or
for better visual description, much like the band Social Distortion. These
guys are from Albany, New York. The music however is very industrial heavy
but the "live" instruments are ever present such as the heavy guitars. Some
of the drums sound as if programmed but on other tracks it sounds like a
human is playing it. This CD is very dark and very diverse in style and not
one dimensional at all. The band has commercial potential undoubtly. Their
songs are catchy, very enjoyable and dancy at times. Don't be surprised if
you hear their tunes at a danceclub because their songs are groovy.

THANX AGAIN BUFFALO!!!
thanks to everyone in buffalo who came out early to catch the virus at diablo
on friday night. props to jesse (diablo) and arick (process of elimination) for
setting things up. also thanks to the very cooperative soundguy who's name we
did not catch.
unfortunately we have no official photos from the show, but if any of our fans
out there have some we'd love to post them here. appropriate credit (and praise)
will be given. just email us at the address in the 'contact' section.

it rained, photos are up, told ya.

05.29.06
thanks to everyone who came out to valentine's saturday night to see us play our
first hometown show in over 7 months. you should be kicking yourself if you missed
this one. our headliners, still life decay, nearly caused the entire block to crumble
under the weight of their earth-shattering set! and even though it was their debut performance,
after nothings' end didn't waste any time proving why they'll soon be drawing big
crowds at all their future shows.
photos from the show will be posted as soon as it starts raining again (so that shouldn't be
long). in the meantime, mark your calendars for june 23rd at diablo in buffalo, where the
virus will be joining forces with disown and our homeboyz in process of elimination!
you can't stop the virus.
05.06.06
it's been another busy few weeks at the fallout shelter as the virus preps for
another round of shows in upstate new york featuring such headliners as "still life
decay", "disown", and "hung". but that's not all we've been up to:
a new "download" option is available in the doomsday virus
store
that will alow you to download the entire album "catastrophic error" and/or all of your
favorite individual tracks for a VERY reasonable fee of $7.77/album or $.77/song!!!

THANX EISDRIVE!!!
thank you to eisdrive for sharing live band practice with us on sunday
night.
also thanks to nancy the soundgirl for being competent, and setting us
up in like 5 minutes with no problems whatsoever. it's amazing what happens
when you work with somebody who knows what they're doing.
at least we know that there's nothing wrong with our di box now...
thanks to axis lounge for letting us in, providing us with water, power, and lights.
thanks to that dude that stood next to the soundgirl for most of the set, and the
random people in the back who popped in and out for a few seconds at a time.
thanks to the woman who placed the flowers on the stage.
thanks to the random guy in the parking lot who was talking to me while i was
emailing my boss.
thanks to the guy who said he'd come in and see us when we started playing, but
didn't because he couldn't hear us over the dj in the other room and i couldn't
find him when it was time to start the show.
mad props to the chinese restaurant across from the holiday inn express in
carlstadt. your food was da bomb, although it's kind of creepy that i can't
find a listing for a chinese restaurant anywhere near that hotel when i tried
to look up the name of your fine establishment in the online yellow pages...
NO FUCKING THANKS to the new jersey dept of transportation!! seriously, i can't
even begin to express how fed up i am with your bullshit sorry ass excuse for a
highway system. are clear signs too much to ask for? and why do you feel the
need to split your highways into separate routes with the SAME ROUTE NUMBER but
different exits from each?! i don't have words for how much you make my blood
boil and for how much i'd like to just #)($@)(#&$ )#I! your (U$#(@##!!! @_$ until
_#@$ ^@$U@9@^* !)@# and then _&@#*$^ $()(!$# !)%)$_*&$^@

SORRY PHILADELPHIA!!!
sometimes things just don't go the way they were planned, or the way you would like
them to go, or even the way they normally do. the "technical difficulties" we
experienced last night were a prime example of that.
without getting overly detailed or accusatory, for the more tech-minded of you, who
are going to ask anyway, here's what happened...
we were told that our DI box from our laptop (for our backing sequences) was sending
out a weak signal the whole set. we were also told that the signal appeared to die
during our last song. this is the same DI box we just used in buffalo last week
without any problems. it's also the same one we use every week, with our own very
new, very loud practice pa system.
when we got back home we immediately set everything up in the rehearsal room, plugged
in the laptop and the DI box and started up our setlist from the show. guess what?
everything sounded just like it always does! it was loud, clear, no hum, and a strong
signal. so draw your own conclusions...
we'd still like to think joanna and intrepid jam for bringing us down there in the
first place. you were very accommodating and understanding, and we really appreciate that. we'd love to be able to work with you again.
thanks to jenx and jinx for helping us out any way you possibly could. it was a
pleasure to meet you.
big thanks to david and tara from brainclaw for coming out to support us, taking
some killer photos, and helping us get home. obviously we've made it back in one piece!
props to rob and jim for making the drive down from albany!
thanks to life cried, hell trash, and psyclon 9 for sharing the stage with us.
also, thank you to everyone in philadelphia who showed up early to catch our set.
we WILL be back! and hopefully with a little more cooperation and professionalism
next time you'll get to experience the show you could have had friday night.
03.07.06
we've somehow found a way to sort through over 400 photos from saturday's show in
buffalo and have posted them for your viewing pleasure in the
photography
section!

03.05.06
THANK YOU BUFFALO!!!
thanks to everyone who braved the cold and the extremely
late 1:30am start at last night's show at merlin's in buffalo! it was great to
see so many familiar faces along with a slew of new ones. you made the 5 hour
drive well worth our while and we thank each and every one of you for showing up!
mad viral props to the two other bands on the bill. from static horizon's
blistering set, to city of god's delicately crafted ethereal soundscapes. you
both set the bar so high for us, yet it was an absolute pleasure sharing the stage
with you. hopefully it won't be the last time!
we'd like to give a big shout out to curt rotterdam (merlin's booking) and todd
(city of god) for getting this all set up and coordinated!
thanks to all the staff at merlin's, from the bar to the door, for helping us out
and keeping n.dru updated on the sabres game while we were setting up!
thanks to ed in the booth, for your patience and cooperation in getting our synths
mixed just right!
thanks to danielle, mike, and terri for supplying us with more photos of the show
than we'll ever know what to do with! (they'll be posted soon enough. well, not
all 8,746 of them, but a few). not to mention leading the doomsday cheering squad!
thanks to melissa for dancing through the entire set, up front, once again, giving
the rest of the crowd motivation to do the same. you do this every show, and we can't
get away without recognizing you for it somehow!
and extra special thanks to the b-unit for rockin' the guest mic on our last two
songs, giving us the extra kick we needed to finish things off right!!!
