07.14.04 - the old website has been taken down to be redesigned in preparation for the new release. news updates and special downloads will still be available here in the time being.

07.09.04 - jØhn wishes to let everyone know that doomsday virus has not fallen off the face of the earth and is in fact nearly done recording the new album. it's only been one year since the last release (which is more than you can say for some other bands out there) but so much has changed in that time. jØhn has only 1 track left to record guitar parts for and n.dru, well he's got some serious vocal work ahead of him the next couple of weeks. but soon it will be time to pull m@rk off the set of his latest gay porno flick, lock him in the fallout shelter, and force him to mix the album.

04.20.04 - awww dude... doomsday virus is still alive (sorry). jØhn and n.dru have been hard at work writing guitar parts and lyrics for the next album, which is still on schedule for release later this year. mark's still around here someplace too, we'll let you know when we find him.

02.25.04 - a newly re-record version of pitch black, featuring our new guitarist jØhn, is now available for download free.

01.30.04 - after replacing and upgrading a considerable portion of our studio gear, great progress has been made on the new album. over the course of the past month or so more than a dozen new tracks of drum and synth programming have been written and recording has finally begun.

look for a complete website overhaul with new sound clips, photos and some big news regarding the upcoming album (including new additions to the dv lineup) in the coming months!

01.06.04 - there's lots of new material on the way, meanwhile a handful of old songs have found a new home at soundclick.com after mp3.com's closing last month. feel free to check them out there:

soundclick.com/doomsdayvirus

for all of those who have been wondering what mark is up to, he is still a contributing member of doomsday virus and is expected to play a vital role in the production of the next release. life often leads us in unexpected directions, some for the better, some not, only time will tell what happens next.

it's been a long, difficult year here in the fallout shelter, but we're looking forward to putting it all behind us and getting a fresh start in 2004.

12.02.03 - looks like there's finally some good news to report as work has officially begun on the *new* album. so far it's sounding good, much more technologically advanced, darker and more aggressive (without being a 'metal' album), plus it's got some thicker juicier beats to keep the dance floor kids happy. don't worry we haven't gone all out ebm here either, there's still some horrid experimental crap, sounds and synths that no band in their right mind would use. which is exactly why we're using them. keep an eye out here for some 'teaser' samples in the coming weeks.

11.17.03 - it's been a rough few months but doomsday virus is still intact. there were a few unexpected problems with the new place that had to get taken care of before we could settle in for the winter and get down to work on the new album. there's a lot more to tell but we'll try and keep it brief.

it appears as though, our synth player/producer, mark will not be able to contribute to the new album as much as previously thought due to other obligations. while mark's plans are often subject to change it seems best to put out a call to other area musicians/artists to come on board. if you're in the albany, ny area (or don't mind making the trip here a couple times a week) feel free to contact the band via the 'contact' section of the website. all interested parties will be taken seriously regardless of age, talent level or musical influences.

in other news, it appears as though mp3.com has been bought out and all material on the website will be deleted within the next month or so. thank you to everyone who checked out our tracks there. the site was bought out by cnet, who may be creating their own similar mp3 community in the near future. if it appears to be something that will work out for us we will definitely be participating, but as of now there is no solid plan. we'll keep you posted as things develop.

photos have finally been uploaded to the 'photos' section. hopefully we'll have more photos of more poeple in the coming months if we can get a more solid roster of participants.

also, we still have copies of the first demo laying around, so if you're interested drop us a line. free copies are available to djs, promoters and others in the music industry. all we ask is that you check out the 'sounds' section first to see if you'll even be interested in a full length album.

07.28.03 - sound clips, in mp3 format, are now posted for every song on the demo in the 'sounds' section.

07.27.03 - two more tracks from the demo will be added to mp3.com ( due to the buyout and deletion of mp3.com by cnet.com, this link has been removed. -dv ) in the coming weeks. go there to hear full versions of the songs we've released. we are in the process of moving to a new studio, which will delay new material slightly, but will be well worth the wait once we're all settled in. look for samples of our new tracks, posted here, later this fall!

07.10.03 - the promotions continue. beginning july 10th we'll be sending out emails to select dj's, musicians, promoters, radio stations, and scenesters around the country trying to spread the doomsday virus as far and wide as possible. to those of you who have received some doomsday spam and are here checking out the website, thanks for stopping by!

07.04.03 - happy fourth of july. as a special promotion, members of certain yahoo groups are eligibile to receive a free demo cd (one per customer please, we're on a budget here!). if you've come to this site from one of these yahoo groups, then you're probably one of them. click on 'sounds' to check out some clips. if you like what you hear, click 'contact' and type the name of your yahoo group in the subject line, and your full name and mailing address in the body of the email form. your cd should arrive within 1-2 weeks depending on where in the country you live. this offer expires august 4th, or when the cds run out!

08.01.02 - after outfitting the studio with professional recording hardware and software, the 10 song demo has been re-recorded. over the next month or so mark and ndru will be working on mixing, editing, and reproducing copies of the demo. dv will then take on the daunting task of label-shopping. if you know of anyone who may be interested do not hesitate to contact the band by visting the "contact" section of this website.

07.01.02 - announcing the addition of local electronic musician, mark stagliano, to the lineup. it is expected that mark will play a major role in the writing of any future dv material. futher collaberation will begin in full force after the first demo is re-recorded. other local musicians are waiting in the wings.

06.01.02 - a 10 song "pre-demo" has been recorded. and a good response has been received from area musicians interested in collaborating. the future is still uncertain. whether these are the first 10 songs of an ongoing project, or the last 10 of a solo career, remains yet to be seen. the cards will fall where they may. still looking for new people.

05.01.02 - content appears on website. at least 10 songs have been completed. now in the process of recruiting live musicians. if you live in the albany, ny area and are interested please use the 'contact' section of this website.
