it's going to be another short update this month, but the news is good.
although we could probably keep writing material for the next 6 years, we're not going to do that to you. a line has been drawn and we're wrapping up the writing process. next up? rehearsing and recording, so that maybe, just maybe, you'll be able to torture your eardrums in new and creative ways before the year is up.
umad?

work continues on the new album here in the studio, and to prove we're not lying, we've posted some "behind the scenes" photos exclusively to our myspace account.
www.myspace.com/doomsdayvirus
we know it's been slow going, and we've hit a few setbacks along the way (lineup changes, studio relocation, band members exiled to far away lands for months at a time), but in the end it will all be worth it.
we're about 2/3 of the way thru the writing process. maybe more. but we're still in the process of exploring all of out options for recording, mixing, and distribution. we don't plan on cutting any corners this time around. when all is said and done, this will be, without a doubt, the best quality, most complete doomsday virus album to date. and we're only getting started...

february is proving to be a busy month here at the fallout shelter. the northeast's famed snow, ice, and sub-zero temperatures have left us very little in the way of excuses not to lock ourselves away and continue to pound out hot new tracks.
at this juncture, several copies of the "2008 press kit" have been mailed out, and we anticipate many more to depart from virus int'l airport in the coming weeks.
in addition to working on our own material, we have seen fit to violate a classic piece of industrial mastery first made famous by the legendary disco-funk outfit known as "my life with the thrill kill kult". we've taken an infinite amount of liberties with the song in order to ruin it for just about everyone. hopefully we didn't leave you out:

doomsday virus announces the release of our "2008 press kit", including a new, unmastered, 5-song demo of our latest material, promotional photos, and updated biography.
do you own an independent record label? know somebody that does? then contact us right away and get your copy before they're gone!
while this demo CD is not available to the general public, we haven't forgotten about our fans. a demo version of one of our new songs "life sux" has been posted in its entirety on our myspace site along with several new promotional photos of the band:
www.myspace.com/doomsdayvirus
since this is merely a "rough demo" version of the song, it is not available for purchase or download, but it's something to hold your over while our studio work continues.
sign us bitches!!!!

happy new year viruses!!
while 2007 was a rather slow news year for the doomsday camp, behind the scenes it was anything but. quite a few big changes were made, including a new guitarist, new studio, new methods of songwriting, and lots of new material on the way. so don't think we've dropped off the face of the earth quite yet. the world isn't that lucky. we only appear dormant.
in the new year, doomsday virus has resolved to bring you not only a new album, but also a wider selection of merchandise, more shows in more places, and many more frequent and informative updates than we have in the past. yes, we really mean that!
so keep it locked here throughout 2008, because you're never really safe from infection, and no matter what you try you still can't stop the virus!!
09.10.07
the virus wants to thank everyone who braved the digustingly humid weather
and sporadic downpours to come out for raHb's debut performance with us last
night in albany!!
judging from the crowd response it seems evident that we've made the right
choice of replacement guitarists AND that you'll enjoy the rest of the new
material when it finally becomes available for you to illegally download!
until that time comes, check out the photos from last nights set and continue
to spread the virus wherever your travels may take you.

DOOMSDAY VIRUS ANNOUNCES NEW GUITARIST
due to increased obligations in his personal life, doomsday virus regrets
to report that we have parted ways with our long-standing guitarist, j0hn.
although this decision was not easy, it was ultimately made in the best
interests of all parties involved. over the years j0hn has proved to be
a tremendous asset to the band, and we wish him well in all of his future
endeavors.
however, it is with great excitement that we announce the addition of our
newest member, raHb, who will be taking over guitarist duties from j0hn
effective immediately. raHb brings with him a resume full of musical
experience and a lifetime's worth of mayhem that is sure to bolster both
our recordings and live performances. when the need to find a suitable
replacement for j0hn arose, there was no question in our minds who our
first choice would be. fans may remember raHb as the guy vomiting blood
at our debut performance back in september of 2005. we expect no less
from him as we move forward with our plans to rain havoc down upon the
world of shitty rehashed disco, that is currently passing for industrial
music, in clubs and on stages around this great nation.
in the coming months raHb will be assisting us as we wrap up writing and
recording the next doomsday virus release. he will be making his first
live appearance with the band at our upcoming one-off show with digital
geist on saturday, september 8th at our "home field" of valentine's (albany,
ny). we will be making raHb available for autographs immediately following
the show, so have your cd's, t-shirts, drink napkins, and boobs ready at
that time.

albany, showcasing NEW material and a NEW lineup!!!
be there bitches!!!

it seems a ninja can't walk the streets these days. everywhere i go people
axe me, "what's up with the virus?", "did you guys break up?", "are you
ever playing shows again?!"
relax my little infections, doomsday virus only appears dormant. we all
have been very hard at work in our new studio "the near-far room". all
that "new material" you've been dying to hear is being extracted from our
radiated souls and polluted minds, out through our misused, abused equipment
and onto digital "tape" on a regular basis. soon you will be able to hear
it for yourselves. i'm quite positive that then, as your eardrums bleed
and your internal organs rearrange themselves in manners deemed "obscene" by
the moral majority, you will believe these words i speak. just give it time.
beautiful things, such as these, cannot be rushed...
and now, some photographic evidence:

doomsday virus' own n.dru will be guest dj'ing the early set at
alien-nation this month in albany (11pm).
he will be spinning the "best" of old-skool industrial, which really
translates into "the shit he thought was cool 10 years ago, but
nobody else noticed".
but fear not, nation regular, dj heathen panzer (guatemala), will
also be at the controls to fill the rest of the evening with
boot-stomping, head crushing, repetitive dance music written many, many
years after your parents' first date.
so come on out to albany's newest and biggest industrial/ebm dance
party and catch a little hint of the music that inspired the virus
to infect the world!!! (or 6 people in new jersey, whatever...)
